I thought that would take this opportunity to write about something that I have a love/hate relationship with my little city Mobile, AL.

It’s a small town feel with unrecognized potential for growth and prosperity. Gay life in Mobile is quiet and secluded, pretty much underground.

The down low rules here. Mainly because it is what it is, then it’s a small town and people gossip.

The most visible segment of the gay community is the lesbian community, who by the way has their own gay club that’s black.  It seems “us” men can’t get it together at least here.  We worry about being on the down low. Individuals I know of and talk to gout of town to party or to invitation only parties.

Then of course you have your typical click that in every gay community.  I think in small cities/towns people actually wonder who’s gay or not besides being in someone’s business.  As a whole gays in the south tend to reflect the culture of the southern regions: traditional, religious and conservative except that they are gay. People ask me all the time,”Where are the gay’s folks at?”

My thing is that I don’t know? And I’m not in the circle. So, they are here. Where? I’m not really sure. But I been told over and over that their here. But it would make for a good investigative research.
