No one really wants to hear when you ache so deep inside
That sometimes it hurts to breathe
Very few want to take the time to wipe away tears…
…tears that have fallen, dried and fallen in a silent, silver cascade.

Don’t get me wrong, they mean well.
They want to want to hug you…
…and make it all go away.
As long as it can be done in ten minutes out the day.

I Talk To You
No one really wants to hear when you ache so deep inside
That sometimes it hurts to breathe
Very few want to take the time to wipe away tears…
…tears that have fallen, dried and fallen in a silent, silver cascade.

Don’t get me wrong, they mean well.
They want to want to hug you…
…and make it all go away.
As long as it can be done in ten minutes out the day.

But I found you, when I was alone…
…in the park
…in my home
…in my solitude.
When I couldn’t take another step, you took my hand, held my chin up
…and loved me
…even when I couldn’t.

I make it a point to talk to you in the morning,
Because you let me reach out to you, and you listened to me
…and answered me.

I heard you in the gentle caress of the wind.
Saw you in the orange glow of the sunset.
Felt you in the beating of my heart.

And you told me – “Be still”, “Don’t worry!”, “I got this!”

And when it got so bad, you sent me smiles…and laughter.
I was showered with positive changes in my circumstance,
…falling around me, over me an through me.

And I was overcome, because I knew you loved me.
…loved me enough to be my beacon through the fog.

I talk to you because you understand. I thank you because you’ve simply been…
…when you owed me nothing.

I talk to you because it is my honor and my privilege.

Because I’m getting to know you intimately, and I am so enjoying this ride.
Because I realize that it is only though you, I am complete.

Amen
