May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, Lord. The words I speak, those who have an ear let them hear, and those who have eyes let them
see. For Your eyes have seen, and Your ears have been hearing.
Amen.
For many, many years strong men and women have been fighting for peace and justice. And now the Jena Six have entered this path of fighting for freedom and rights. This is yet another call for everyone to wake up, no matter what color, race or ethnic group they come from. But until we can learn to accept each person for who they are or choose to be, and to respect one another for their decisions, we will always live in a world full of hate, crime, and most of all lack of respect.
My brothers, my sisters, the time has come that we all must rise and come forth. This is America, where justice and freedom were supposed to stand. Let's start respecting each other's wishes and choices to live and be who they are. None of us have either a Heaven or a Hell to place anyone in. But if we continue to go down the road we are on, we are headed toward Hell - the one we are creating.
Let us stand for what is right. Every living soul can be treated fairly and accepted, no matter what lifestyle or way of life they may choose. We all are individuals - even those who came here as twins or triplets. No two of us are the same, nor do we think the same. God is Love, and we have always been taught to love one another. Our bodies are His temple. There is no one that is now, or will ever be perfect. Let's stop judging one another. We each have enough "baggage" to carry through life; we should deal with our baggage, and respect others as they deal with theirs.
Stand, stand, stand! Let God do His will, and mind your own business.
Grace, blessings, and peace to all of you,
Rev. Dewey W. Edwards, M.Div. Pastor and teacher
