ANAL HEALTH SERIES: PART 1- ANAL DOUCHING
This series is something that men that identify as bottom or versatile need to pay close attention to. It is also a subject that top men need to be very aware of. The proper awareness and healthy anal decision making in our community is something that touches off more discussions than just physical health or cleanliness. It also touches on a deep discussion of internalized sexual phobia, and internalized homophobia that we rarely talk about. It plays into fantasy and the body as a model for that fantasy, and the reality of what we are doing physically in our bedrooms. This topic brings up more issues than just wanting to keep the “stick” clean; it is about myths and facts that in many cases are worlds apart. In this series I hope to address the digestive system, myths, taboos, and other important social issues around anal heath.
The notion of cleanliness is not often associated with our “gluteus maximus”, “ass”, or “kudunkadunk”; whichever you prefer to describe the place of hollowness that is both admired and detested by people in our society. However, within the SGL/Gay/ Bisexual/ SSD Communities there is a major amount of pressure put on “receptive players” to be immaculate. This is a pressure that has caused health problems for men later in their lives, and it also has created a sentiment of hostility within the community, which is filled with people with little to no biological understanding of the digestive system. It is imperative that people understand how their bodies work so that they may make better choices and decisions for live healthier lives.
It is amazing to me when I here stories from friends and clients about their sexual exploits, how naive we all are about the proper usage of enemas. Many men are using feminine hygienic products thinking that if it’s good enough to clean a woman’s vagina it is good enough to clean a man’s rectum. This could not be further from the truth. Summer’s Eve and the like products are not created to clean the rectum and thus are filled with ingredients that leave the rectum in a very unhealthy state. The insert caps can also tear the mucous membranes, leaving you more susceptible to being infected for a number STD’s and HIV. It is my recommendation that you use safe products like Fleet enema, also read the ingredients, and stay away from vinegars. If you are planning on giving your man a treat, make sure that he uses a condom as the entry tip may leave abrasions and small cuts leaving you more open to infection of HIV and other STD’s.
I understand very clearly the want and desire to be clean when having sex (for some people), but we must put aside some of the myths that we hold on to and believe. Many people who may think they may be physical after a date or when in cruise mode will not eat certain foods. We have to understand that the enema that you are taking only cleans
out the foods from 48 hours prior to your cleaning. You see the body takes 48 hours to digest food. So that steak you ate two days ago is the product that you are actually cleaning. When taking an enema please allow at least 2 hours before any sexual activities take place. This allows any fluid that you did not excrete to make its way down to leave the body. This will allow your body to relax and for you to have a peace of mind that you wont give your partner or yourself a very unwelcome surprise.
The use of enemas can cause complications if used to often. I had a client who claimed to use enemas every 3 days. I was shocked and perplexed to hear his story, as he had no idea the possible damage he could be doing to himself. I explain thoroughly why it is important to tone down enema usage. Many men do not know that with your rectum are bacteria and oils that help facilitate bowel movement. When you use an enema not only do you clean out the feces, but you also clean out necessary bacteria and oils that are created by your anal glands. This causes the body to have to grow the bacteria again. After, you use the enema at such an unhealthy rate it becomes harder for the bacteria to grow back and for the oils to be produced. This means that your body canpossibly move to depending on your enema use to facilitate the essential body cleaning process. This can both be a problem and a financial and embarrassing dilemma. To replace the needed oils and bacteria necessary for a healthy digestive system recommend eating yogurt will be your best friend.
Do not get me wrong their can be major problems when dealing with other peoples fecal matter, including Hepatitis B and parasites, so cleaning up is a very healthy and necessary part of anal intercourse or anal play. This also means using protection and cleaning all toys and dildos thoroughly each and every single time you play. Making sure you do not share toys, and covering dildos with condoms.
As this series continues we will talk about anal penetration, the body parts of the digestive system, dealing with the male “g” spot, and dealing with a few psychological issues around anal sex and anal health. If you have any specific question email me.
