Black Americans are projected to have a total income or buying power of $981 billion by 2010 says a new report.
The projection comes in a report entitled 'African American Credit, Debit and Prepaid Card Users: Under-valued and Overlooked.' The aim of the report was to encourage companies to target Blacks for greater credit card use. It concluded: 'overall, the financial services industry does little to cultivate the African American market as a long-term source of valuable customers.'
The report also found that over 2 million African American households have incomes of $75,000 or more a year.
