My friend Ty Lattimore granted me an interview a couple of months ago and I was so excited. In the interview one of my questions to him was about other porn actors and he mentioned one of my favorites, Mr. J.C. Carter. Ty hooked me up with J.C's e-mail, but I was pleasantly surprised by J.C's phone call. This muscular 5'6, brown skinned beautiful man was a gentleman and a scholar. He was very exuberant to accept the interview as I was to give it. I told J.C. that I had been a fan of his since I discovered that I was gay. His hazel eyes and beautiful caramel muscular framed man always had my attention. I never knew whether it was his shaved head, tattoos, or beautiful smile that drove men crazy but he seemed more than that. I was impressed with his poise and intelligence especially when he told me he is a Criminal Justice major with a minor in Psychology and enjoys bodybuilding and traveling. At the end of the interview I said to J.C, "What can I call you since I know J.C. is not your real name?" He said, "You can call me friend but my real name is _______". He told me to call him anytime I was in town so we could hang out and I can't wait.

Justin: Where were you born and where did you grow up?

J.C: I was born in Chicago, IL and I grew up on the South side of Chicago.

Justin: Can you recollect the first black gay pornographic movie you saw?

J.C: Yes, I remember being about 13 yrs old I went to take the trash out when I found in the common trash bin a few old pictures of two guys sucking each other then as I dug deeper into the trash I found a few boxes of the old reel to reel tapes. I do remember seeing that type of reel to reel movie projector in my parents' room. Justin: When you were growing up what kinds of jobs did you have?

Justin: Did you ever think you would be in the porn industry? If not, then what?

I was flying back to Los Angeles, New York, Canada, and San Francisco often to work on many other video projects. It also helped that I did majority of interracial films.

Justin: There are other porn stars that have stopped doing porn and turned there lives to God like Rev. Bobby Blake, what are you thoughts personally about him and his recent lifestyle changes? And your opinions/thought personally of him?

J.C:  I respect peoples choices in life, Bobby is a good hearty person who is truly a great guy. He is a guy who respects himself and others. People sometimes confuse the fact that what he portrays on screen is very different from what he is really like in person. I cherish Bobby Blake's friendship and I consider him more than a friend.

Justin: I personally have many films of you and Bobby Blake working together, it's one of my favorites. How much fun did/do you have working with him?

J.C: I have a lot of fun with him, we both know each other very well. Since we are friends there are so many things we can do together on and off screen.

Justin: Are you single/dating?

J.C: I have been in a relationship with my partner for over 8 years now.

Justin: How did you meet your partner, and how did he snag one of the countries top black male porn actors?

J.C: I met my partner on line, yes that is right. I responded to his e-mail and we kept in touch until we finally met about 8 years ago. There were no expectations when we met and things snowballed from there.

Justin: Do you plan on getting married to him one day?

J.C:  F**k yeah, I would like to have this country recognize same sex marriages. It is legal in his country.

Justin: Is it hard or easy finding someone that understands about you being a sexual icon/porn star?

J.C:  It has been really easy talking to people who know what I have done in the porn industry. They are amazed that I live here in Chicago and they don't see me out at the clubs. Well that's because I don't go out to bars often. I go to the Baton Show lounge on weekends to have a few drinks. I often go alone or sometimes with my partner or a few friends.

Justin: Have you ever dated other porn stars?

J.C:  No, I have never dated any other porn stars. But I do keep in touch with many of them that I have worked with or met while doing the awards show.

Justin: How can you tell when you're talking to someone that it isn't because of what in between your legs but in between your ears (brain)?

J.C: I can tell when they refer to me by my real name. Many people like to get to know the real person and not just the porn star. That makes me feel good that someone sees me as a person and not just another nut bucket.

Justin: Many porn stars have left the entertainment industry after years of service but you have stuck it out would you continue to make your professional career a success by founding your own entertainment company.
J.C: Actually I have only thought about starting my own company but due to my other interest and ambitions I have placed that idea on the back burner.

Justin: Does your family know about you profession? What do they think?

J.C: Yes they know all about my porn career. They have no choice but to accept it and accept me as well. I have never gotten anything less than support from my family. Here is a funny story on how they found out about my profession. I remember a relative was in the beauty shop and she was getting her hair shampooed when she reached for an adult male magazine. When she opened the magazine the clerk said take a look at this guy. Her eyes popped out of her head and she said that's my cousin. Of course the clerk did not believe her and she called me to ask if I could come down to meet her. Well I did and fuck what a scene in the shop. They both screamed and started passing around the nude magazine to all the other patrons in the store. There were a few guys in the store waiting on their girlfriends and when the dust settled I walked to the restroom. Justin: Do you plan to use your power for any community activities or maybe advocating for Gay Civil Rights?

J.C: Yes, if I was an activist I would promote same sex marriage and ensure that the rights of an individuals sexual orientation should not become an issue and that the church and it's beliefs or values would play no part in exercising the rights of same sex couples.

Justin: Can you give me a statement to all the critics out there that call you a bad influence on the Black Gay/SGL men watching your films?

Justin: With the HIV scare that happened when two porn actors Lara Roxx and Darren James tested positive in 2004, what went through your head? Did/Do you think that you were/are at risk?
