I would like to believe that I'm a student & teacher of life. At the beginning of 2007, I relocated from NYC to Charlotte, NC. I've written 4 books of poetry and have just completed my 1st novel. I would like to believe that my life experience may be able to educate others by seeing the world thru my eyes. There's always a point of view, & I'd like to add my flavor. I'm an extremely private person, however, I believe that I can speak for the voices that need to be heard.

I had to response to this immediately. I just read this on "Black Spin Blogs", on AOL. I would imagine that some of you will be as pissed off as I am. Pat Buchanan thinks African Americans should show more appreciation for being the descendants of slaves, this is what he had to say.
| "First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known."
"Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American." (Obama's former pastor) |
|
| "Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the 1960's on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream." |
|
| "Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks - with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas - to advance black applicants over white applicants." |
|
How typical.
First, 20 million Africans were shackled and packed into the holds of slave ships. Roughly 10 million didn't make it here because they died in passage (and yes, we are to blame, as some of us were stole by our own people).
There are more poor whites than poor blacks. And unlike the broken promise of "40 acres and a mule," the government programs that Buchanan lists were not "designed" for black folks.
Buchanan denounces government spending to "lift up" individuals.
Firstly, I would like to thank "Black Spin" for posting this on their blog.
What the f*ck is this cracker talking about???!!! People need to ask Pat "Bigot" Buchanan how white America has benefited in the United States and thru-out the world. White people have changed the true history of man to reflect "his-story", which for the most part is nothing but lies. Pat and other racist have even changed the bible & Jesus Christ to reflect the image that they would like everyone to believe, but you know that Christ was a man of color and not the blond, blue eye savior that "whites" would want the world to believe.
Pat "Racist" Buchanan and the other god-less devils, pretending to be Christian, are afraid that what has been on the bottom is raising to the top. ALL PEOPLE OF COLOR should unite as one. Imagine how powerful we would be. People of color our roots are from Africa, it doesn't matter if the ship you were enslaved on, went to Cuba, Puerto Rico, India, the West Indies, Europe, the Americas, it doesn't matter if your hair is straight and long or short and tightly curled, or if you are light & lovely like Lena Horne or dark & lovely like Grace Jones, we, the people of color, are originally from Africa, lets embrace who we are and unite. Let's show the world that a person of color can govern the United States, and change the world. The closer it gets to voting for President Obama, the more afraid a lot of folks are going to become. And with fear, the hatred will show.
Keep your eyes on the prize. Continue to pray for strength, wisdom and truth. Don't let the media confuse you. We are told to get over the race issue, but when the "powers that be", want to create fear, the race card is drawn. Yes, we have our issues, but what white people have done through-out history is much worse than what you may read or hear about on your local news, in regard to people of color and some the crimes done by us.
People, listen to the issues and let the best man win as President of the United States. Don't let hatred and self-hatred rob you, your vote is extremely important. Let yourself be counted. Our beautiful people of color lets give Senator Obama your vote. We need a change not for just black people but for all people. He's the "people's president", let make it happen.
