I would like to believe that I'm a student & teacher of life. At the beginning of 2007, I relocated from NYC to Charlotte, NC. I've written 4 books of poetry and have just completed my 1st novel. I would like to believe that my life experience may be able to educate others by seeing the world thru my eyes. There's always a point of view, & I'd like to add my flavor. I'm an extremely private person, however, I believe that I can speak for the voices that need to be heard. I haven't been this excited about purchasing any music since Erykah Badu's first CD, and a few years later seeing Ms. Jill Scott sing "Getting In The Way Of What I'm Feeling", on the "Chris Rock" Show, which I made a mad dash to J&R Music World, in New York City, to become the 1 millionth buyer. Now there's a new Queen in the house. This beautiful diva, in the making, her name is Ms. Ledisi.

Upon returning home, I must admit that I didn't immediately run to my CD player to give it a listen. I had heard, "Alright" on the radio and it was alright.
Then this evening I was listening, relaxing, and the song that got my attention is called, "Lost & Found." It was like an emotional, musical, punch in the face, the lyrics of a "Stevie Wonder genius" and vocals, equally as brilliant, blew me away. I got catch up in the beautifully written translated poetry turn into song and instruments. At first listen, you might think that she sounds like Odeta Adams, with a pinch of Jill Scott, and the gospel greats, Kim Burrell and Karen Clark. But giving it a second, third listen, I realized and discovered that Ledisi, doesn't sound like anyone else. From the first cut, "Been Here-(Intro) to the last song, "Been Here (Outro), you are in for a love fest journey.
She's unique and originally. But I should have known this from watching her on television, watching the way she "turned it out" on the fantastic tribute to Ms. Ella Fitzgerald.
Now I want to scream it from off the roof tops, PICK UP THIS CD!
