According to the Starpulse Entertainment News Blog., our beloved Luther Vandross' longtime friend, Bruce Vilanch told "Out" Magazine that he knew for a fact that Luther was gay. Other friends are now outing our dear "Luther", telling anyone who will listen that Luther was secretly gay and that this was an industry open secret. Vilanch continues with, "He was way in the closet.

Now I don't know how many fans saw Luther, back in the day, when he was singing for "Sesame Street", but I can recall, seeing it and I knew then. This was way before his first group called, "Luther", and then he was a featured singer with the pre-disco group, "Change" of which after was the famous, "Never Too Much" solo LP. Not that it mattered on who he was sleeping with. He was a truly gifted, talented brother.

For those of you who don't know who Bruce Vilanch, he's the famous script and comedy writer to the stars and looks like he could be a character from "Sesame Street", himself. Bruce is also quoted as saying, he knew of a relationship that Luther had, with someone who was "not white", who was a recovering alcoholic. Perhaps this is why in later years, rumors had it out that Luther was only into white men. Maybe this puts things in a new light. Burnt child scare of fire.

At the time of Luther's passing, Michael Musto, another tell all associate who writes for the Village Voice, said that Luther was desperately in search for love, trying to find a boyfriend. A positive spin is that in a business where Luther could have slept with a different man every night, its said that he had few sexual encounters. I think for the most part any true fan of his knew about his sexual choice. This didn't have anything to do with his silky soulful voice.

Appalled fans are shocked at the timing of this information on the beloved singer, however, it shouldn't matter on who he slept with. He will forever go down in history as one of the world's greatest singers.

In the name of friendship, I don't feel that his "so called" friends should have exposed him. Makes you wonder, were they really his friends?

Next, I guess, another friend will be writing a tell all book.
