Pop and R&B icon, Whitney Houston came out of hiding to perform at the Plymouth Jazz Festival in Tobago last Sunday, April 27th Whitney started her set with her hit, "It's Not Right, But It's Okay, but by her third song, sources claim, as she attempted to sing, "Saving All My Love", her tenor voice was more of a full rasp. Unfortunately and sad that one of the world's best, gifted soprano voices, due to alleged drugs now sings in a tenor voice, that after a few songs, 3 in total, the tenor voice was gone, left many wondering, why the diva attempted to sing at all.

Whitney was paid $3 million to perform a seven number show. Media flew in from all over the world to witness her comeback, were not allowed to interview the pop star. The funny but sad moment, besides the vocal issues were when she told the audience that she loved them, "I love you Trinidad!" Someone yelled back, "This is Tobago!"

Whitney continued, My daughter and I have listened from our porch each night and I have enjoyed Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson and En Vogue." Rumor has it, that she attempted to sing, "

And I'll Always Love you." making the build up, a let down. For her encore, she tried to sing, "I'm Every Woman."

Perhaps the divas voice was shot due to working on her, set to be released in November, comeback album. Many divas who have had problems in the past, like Natalie Cole, were able to bounced back after a few lukewarm CD's, and this may be the case with Ms. Houston.

The world loves a great comeback. I'm still betting on Whitney. I have a feeling that once the voice is totally back, she will prove why she's called a diva.
