Call for entries: Toronto International Film Festival 2007

Mon, 19 Mar 2007

The Toronto International Film Festival 2007 is looking for new feature-length films, both fiction and documentary, as well as exceptional documentaries of any length.

From 9-12May, Toronto International Film Festival programmer, Cameron Bailey will be in Johannesburg to view and select South African films for this year's festival. In the past two years Toronto has made the world premieres of John Barker's Bunny Chow and Khalo Matabane's Conversations on a Sunday Afternoon.

In addition, Gavin Hood's Tsotsi made its North American premiere in Toronto, winning the Audience Award for Most Popular Film. This year's festival runs from September 6-15.

The Toronto festival is not considering television films and programmes at this time. World premieres are preferred, and a North American premiere is a minimum requirement. Submitted films must be completed by 1 August, 2007 but can screen in fine-cut form for selection purposes. Screenings will be held from 9-11 May at the National Film and Video Foundation offices.

All films to be submitted need to be on DVD format only. The deadline for submission of films is Monday, 7 May 2007 by the latest 16H00.

The films should be submitted to:

National Film and Video Foundation
