I would like to believe that I'm a student & teacher of life. At the beginning of 2007, I relocated from NYC to Charlotte, NC. I've written 4 books of poetry and have just completed my 1st novel. I would like to believe that my life experience may be able to educate others by seeing the world thru my eyes. There's always a point of view, & I'd like to add my flavor. I'm an extremely private person, however, I believe that I can speak for the voices that need to be heard.

There's so much talent in our community of color, and its excites me when I discover a new voice, a new sound, a unique vocal. Well, as I was checking out my "my space" friends, listening to the music on some of the sites, I came across of beautiful vocals of Teedra Moses.
| I immediately had to find out who this person is. Her voice is so clear, so beautiful. I love soprano voices, such as Erykah Badu, Diana Ross, Aretha, Patti, Dionne etc., and I fell in love with this voice. Introducing Ms. Teedra Moses. |
| According to her bio: Teedra was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana to a gospel great singer mother, Shirley Moses. She later moved to Los Angeles, California after her parents' divorce. Moses brought a little bit of that fervor to her own vocal style when she began singing professionally. The final song on her debut album, "I Think of You (Shirley's Song)", is dedicated to her late mother. Teedra has twin boys, Ras and Taj; their father is rapper Ras Kass. It seems only natural that she would be a singer, songwriter and performer herself. She has songwriting credit on such songs: "Still in Love" recorded by Nivea, "Dip It Low" recorded by Christina Milian, it was only a matter of time before she would step up to lead microphone.
For me the song that wouldn't let me go is titled, "So Cool." It's a blend of something old, something fresh and new. Ms. Moses is also an actress and will make her debut as "Lisa", in the film based on New York City's shock D.J. and personality, Wendy Williams, titled, "Queen of Media." Teedra has two CDs to her credit: Complex Simplicity and The Young Lioness. If you like vocals like Ashanti, Beyonce and old school Jean Terrell of the Supremes, with some great beats, mature lyrics and you are feeling the urban sound, check out this young, beautiful sister and hit me back. By the way, "So Cool", isn't released yet, but to get a listen, check on her my space address: www.myspace.com/teedramoses |
