I would like to believe that I'm a student & teacher of life. At the beginning of 2007, I relocated from NYC to Charlotte, NC. I've written 4 books of poetry and have just completed my 1st novel. I would like to believe that my life experience may be able to educate others by seeing the world thru my eyes. There's always a point of view, & I'd like to add my flavor. I'm an extremely private person, however, I believe that I can speak for the voices that need to be heard.

Wow, this is amazing, just the other day, the publisher of GBMNews.com and I were chatting about Stage and Screen actor, Mr. Avery Brooks. He commented how his mother, may she rest in peace, was a huge fan of his, when he starred on "Spencer For Hire", as the educated thug, pimp. We continued our conversation, as we spoke about his being cast the only black captain on the Star Trek series.
| Now our Mr. Brooks, has just completed a run of a "radical new interpretation" of the classic great Arthur Miller's play, "Death of A Salesman." Performances were at Ohio's Oberlin College's Hall Auditorium, 67 North Main St., Oberlin). Unfortunately, at the time of this printing, the show has come and gone.
Justin Emeka, the Professor of Theatre and African-American studies, was the Director of this timeless work, as its a story of a family with dreams falling on hard times, much like the play, "Raisin In The Sun." When "Death of A Salesman" was performed prior, it was with a white cast, however, having a black cast shows mankind that we are all the same and experience a lot of the same situations, no matter the skin that we are wrapped in. Petronia Paley of E.R. fame, a New York actress was also a part of the ensemble. Perhaps by popular demand this will find its way to Broadway. If this play comes to your part of the world, you must purchase a ticket, as you will be treating yourself to some find theatre at its best. You read it here at GBMNews.com |
