| Price’s family is holding a vigil by his bedside; his sister-in-law Joanne Guarneri tells WABC, “Both his lungs are collapsed. All his ribs are broken, his spleen had surgery, and he had to get a metal plate put in his jaw. This man would not hurt a soul. He’s five foot six and 130 pounds.” Price managed to walk and crawl more than 10 blocks to his home after the attack so he could call 911, NY1 reports. And before doctors put him in a coma, he managed to pick out photos of the perps.
City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who is openly gay, denounced the attack yesterday: “You grow tired of doing these press conferences…these two hateful, ignorant individuals represent a minority of New Yorkers. I want to send a clear message to that second individual who is still on the loose. Turn yourself in because the full force of the NYPD will be brought to bear to apprehend you.” Police are asking anyone with information to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
