A local gay and lesbian group is searching for the vandal who ripped their sign on Lark Street. The banner calls for a celebration of Black and Latino Gay Pride Day.
Organizers said it is important to recognize the contributions that people of color have made to the larger capital LGBT community.
But earlier this week the sign was slashed, leaving the group, In Our Own Voices, baffled.
"I really don't have any idea who would do such a thing, and I think it's sad and it's awful and it hurts us all when things like that are done," said Tandra La Grone
La Grone said she thought about fixing the sign but has decided to leave it as is.
