Each day in the gym should be goal oriented. Each day of training is a step towards your goal of gaining mass and thickness or sculpting and definition of the muscle.
There are several different and varied methods of training and working out to increase mass and strength or to sculpt your body. Everyone is different, so try the find the one training method and routine you enjoy doing.
To build muscle your body needs correct amount of protein nutrients, rest and recovery to optimize muscle development which is the incredible well built machine of the human body Not only is the are the correct amounts important but also at the correct timing that your protein is ingested can be crucial in the development of good muscle. There are many forms and type of protein all which play a different role in muscle development. A varied diet of many types of protein is wise.
In any workout or training routine there are exercises that challenge you physically and mentally, pushing you to your limits of exhaustion. 

An extra 30 min of Cardio a week will increase your level of energy and improve cardiovascular endurance or eliminating soft drinks from your daily routine will rid diet of unwanted empty calorie from 120 to 170 calories per can of coke or Pepsi..
