Dante Franklin

Just wanted to take a moment and say goodbye to a good friend and model.

Dante Franklin passed a few weeks ago. He was featured in many videos for Ty Lattimore Ent, Bacchus, Chocolate Drop, and several other studios.

He was also an accomplished singer. Dante and I go back many years prior to either of us being in the industry. He was a funny, friendly and direct person. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

He will be missed

I did advance voting on Monday here in Atlanta. I only waited about 3 hours but I had a great conversation with a few of the people waiting in line that I met. It was amazing to see so many people turn out here in Georgia. It was human nature to be a little inconvenienced about having to wait so long. But the people I talked to in line all agreed that we all were so glad to be taking a part of the process. There were older voters, first time voters, different ethnicity, and ages. It was so amazing hearing so many people participating and being informed on the issues.

Regardless of your party affiliation or beliefs, it was good knowing you were participating in history and also doing our civic responsibility. I could not help but think of all the history of this country and especially that of Atlanta and Georgia. All the sacrifices of so many people in history for us to enjoy so many of the things that we take for granted on a daily basis. I was so proud to see the people here in Atlanta and across the country using their vote to support their candidate.

While I make no secret that I am a Obama supporter, I am glad to see everyone showing up and not being discouraged by the lines. There are so many important issues going on everywhere. Hopefully the anti-gay marriage proposition in Cali will not pass and abortions will remain legal in the states trying to making it impossible for a woman to exercise her right to decide what is best for herself. Anyone who knows me, knows I am all about (adults) people having the right to choice for themselves, whether its porn, abortion, marriage, adoption or any other liberty. Anytime someone, or the government, tries to limit someone else' s choice, life, love, body, privacy, religion, health care, education, or any civil rights.....we should all be concerned.

I am so amazed how race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation are still tools used to divide us. For example, I can only imagine how most Muslims in this country feel. Its amazing how the word Muslim is used the same as the word terrorist. Its also amazing to me how much religion has played in this campaign when church and state should be separate and someones religious beliefs should be private. My other problem is that since the news media decided to explore Obama's church, religious background and pastor but did not seem to do that for the other candidates.
