If I understand that I could be killed or beaten and maimed, ummm, I am staying in the closet or moving! And yeah, yeah, I am all for expressing yourself but when expressing yourself can get you killed I think it's unwise to pursue the course of action. It would be wiser to build a consortium first. There is solidarity and strength in numbers. Certain kinds of madness (coming out in a notoriously homophobic country) is o.k. as long as there is method to it.

Some people are born with that "martyr gene" (if you will). People like myself, who don't give a flying-f#@k. I'm a straight man who blogs about gays in hip-hop and takes plenty flack for it. Some people are just built to stand in the fire and deal with what may come for the sake of humanity. And then some people (such as yourself) are built for self-preservation. Do you think Jesus didn't understand that he was committing suicide, speaking out against Rome? He damn sure did! This isn't about rational thinking or wisdom! It's about CONVICTION to rewrite a societal wrong!

I know he always wanted to live in the USA and I really think he would take up with anybody just to get out of Jamaica. I hate to see it done this way. I think he is confused and is fooling a lot of people for attention. Michael I know you better than that!
